WhatsApp Introduces Secret Code to Lock Chats

WhatsApp is testing a new feature called Secret Code that allows users to create a custom password for their locked chats.

Secret Code adds an extra layer of security to the Chat Lock feature, which lets users lock certain chats with their device password or biometric method.

With Secret Code, users can hide the entry point to view locked chats from the chat list, and access them only by typing the code in the search bar or on their companion devices.

Secret Code is currently available to a small group of Android beta testers with the latest WhatsApp beta version 2.23.24.20, and is expected to roll out to everyone soon.

Secret Code is a useful feature for those who share their phones with others, as it prevents others from seeing or opening their locked chats by pulling down the home screen.
