U.S. Chip Maker, AMD, Opens Its Global Design Center in India

AMD inaugurated its largest global design center in Bengaluru, India, part of a $400 million investment in the country.

The 500,000-square-foot campus plans to accommodate approximately 3,000 engineers, focusing on semiconductor technology development.

The Bengaluru facility is designated as a center of excellence for high-performance CPUs, PCs, and gaming GPUs.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw commended AMD's investment, aligning it with India’s semiconductor program under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

AMD's CTO, Mark Papermaster, expressed confidence in India's engineering talent, stating that the new center will drive global technology and product development.
